Kimberley Ski Resort has a trail that compliments everyone’s skiing style. Discover a huge number of velvety groomed runs to carve down to be sure to adventure down the bumps of the backside of the mountain.

Whatever your challenge Kimberley Alpine Resort will give you the ultimate Winter and Ski Experience.

    What's New at Kimberley 2006- 2007

Revised Beginner Area – With programs expanding and more people taking lessons, we needed more space, so we created it! For 2006/07, The Owl Learning area will have a new 180 foot long magic carpet with a corralled, low-angle learning slope. In addition, existing terrain will be re-contoured to offer beginners a wider, lower angle slope to master the initial skills before heading up the North Star Express Quad.

New Easter Bathrooms – It always happens, when the powder is flying and the sun is out on the Easter, you have to make a pit stop. Well, no longer will guests have to travel to the base of the resort. New toilets are now in place at the top of the Easter Chair.

Summer Glading – Kimberley Alpine Resort strives to provide the most consistent snow surface. Work done in the summer makes for velvety smooth groomers and challenging bump runs in the winter. During the summer, 15 runs on the Easter (North Bowl) side of the resort will get attention as crews clean up in the trees and on the runs. (Notre Dame, Full House, Tramway, Geneva, Dean Left & Right, Twixt, Comet, Magma, Jackpot, Twist, Maverick, Flush, Fuzzy & Flapper). As well, the front side of the mountain will see significant work performed as Rosa, Buckhorn, Mambo, Utopia, Stemwinder and Twilight have all seen brush crews. Also check around the mountain for some new unnamed glades. After all, we can’t tell you everything! Front side work will please skiers and riders who love glades – look for 7-metre spacing throughout the entire front side of the mountain.

NEW Trails – For those who want to explore a little before you reach the base area, or for those staying on the mountain, the North Star Trail will take you from below the skier bridge amongst a tree lined, low angle trail to your destination in the Resort plaza. Moe’s Trail – A new intermediate trail to the skiers’ right of Boundary Run. Nate’s Way – A new access trail from the Top of the Tamarack Chair to the Stemwinder Run. New designated FIS Homologated run as part of the Kimberley Paralympic program.

Expansion of the Cranbrook Airport, which will soon be named the Canadian Rockies International Airport Runway Expansion will be completed this winter. Significant changes to the airport are currently underway to accommodate larger aircraft and more passengers. The runway will be extended to 8,000 feet to accommodate larger planes, including transcontinental and some European flights, and the terminal building will be expanded to 2,035 square meters. Other upgrades include a series of upgrades to the fueling, baggage handling, and related operational areas. Of significant interest is the construction of a CBSA (Canada Customs and Immigrations) facility to ensure timely processing of passengers is available on demand.
